Its robust stainless steel case measures the familiar 46.2mm diameter and features the distinct easy grip conical crown at 3 o’clock for manipulating under thick quilted pilot’s gloves. The 60 meter water resistant case of the luxury pilot’s watch surrounds a captivating deep blue dial, topped with a sapphire crystal glass lens that has been secured against displacement by drop in air pressure. The Big Pilot’s Watch Perpetual Calendar is feature packed with innovative functions like a moonphase display that shows the Northern and Southern hemispheres and an impressive in house automatic movement. The display is also equipped with a date counter integrated with a power reserve at 3 o’clock, a month sub dial at 6 o’clock and a small seconds sub dial at 9 o’clock combined with a days of the week display.
Arabic numerals treated with luminescent material match the central hour and minutes hands, accompanied by rectangular lume filled markers. Able to recognise the leap years and different months of the year, the in house self winding IWC Calibre 52615 comprises a total of 386 hand assembled components including 54 jewels and performs at a rate of 28,800 vibrations per hour. The movement is also put on show through the back of the case, sealed with a sheet of anti reflective sapphire crystal glass.
